There’s new controversy surrounding visitations into aged care facilities. Firstly, Coronavirus is in the community. The aged are vulnerable. the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety recently released a statement on COVID_19.

Furthermore, the Chair of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety called on the community, the federal government and aged care providers to be vigilant in responding to Coronavirus. This virus impacts on our most vulnerable, including the aged care community.

The Chair of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety stated that “Many older people are restricted in the number and length of family and other visitors who have been allowed to visit them.” Moreover, the statement discusses the restrictions of numbers of visitors. This looks at how visitations impact on quality of life for the elderly living in aged care.
