Forbidden to Visit Family in Aged Care in Response to COVID-19

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety recently released a statement on COVID-19.

The Chair of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety called on the community, the federal government and aged care providers to be vigilant in responding to COVID-19. This virus impacts on our most vulnerable, including the aged care community.

The Chair of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety stated that “Many older people have been restricted in the number and length of family and other visitors who have been allowed to visit them.” Continuing on, the statement discusses the restrictions in numbers of visitors and how this impacts on quality of life for the elderly living in aged care.
